Members of Bangladesh Navy seized the “biggest ever” consignment of Yaba tablets near Patenga in Anwara upazila of Chittagong early today. An anti-smuggling team of the navy cracked down on a smuggling operation and seized a fishing trawler, FV Saleha, along with 2,20,000 Yaba tablets early today, claimed team commander Jasimuzzaman. Govt gets 72-hr to withdraw illegal human hauliers in 5 dists

The High Court today directed the government to stop the plying of illegal three-wheelers on the highways of five southern districts within 72 hours. Deputy commissioners and superintendents of police of Barisal, Khulna, Madaripur, Faridpur and Rajbari have been asked to comply with the order and submit a report before it by two weeks. The bench of Justice Salma Masud Chowdhury and Justice Md Khasruzzaman issued the order in response to a writ petition filed by Human Rights and Peace for Bangladesh.
