Facebook denies it’s biased against this type of politics

People are seen as silhouettes as they check mobile devices whilst standing against an illuminated wall bearing Facebook Inc.'s logo Ever felt like Facebook is a little bit lefty? Well, now it's defended itself against claims that it does favour one side of the political spectrum over the other by manipulating what appears on the site. Staff at the social network suppressed coverage of conservative politics in the US, according to a report, choosing not to include them in its trending topics section near the top of the site, despite the algorithm showing people were interested in the subject and talking about it. We take these reports extremely seriously, and have found no evidence that the anonymous allegations are true, said Facebook's vice president of search Tom Stocky...

London buses to carry ‘Subhan Allah’ sign during month of Ramadhan

Buses featuring an Arabic phrase ‘Subhan Allah’ which translates as ‘Glory to Allah’ would run across the streets of London in order to raise awareness during the holy month of Ramadan. According to Express, hundreds of buses across Britian would carry the phrase ‘Subhan Allah,’ as part of a campaign by a charity Islamic Relief. The charity organization states that the posters would help raise funds for victims of war and disasters in countries such as Syria, and would also portray Islam in a positive light. “There is a lot of negativity around Muslims. We want to change the perception of Islam. The campaign is about breaking down barriers and challenging misconceptions,” said Islamic Relief’s UK Director, Imran Madden. As per BT, Subhan Allah would most prominently be fea...

Banned driver led police on 100mph chase while his partner was in LABOUR next to him

A banned driver led police on a 100mph chase while his girlfriend was in labour next to him - before dumping his car and leaving her in a "hysterical" state, a court heard. Kyle Stogden, 21, ran red lights and mounted grass verges in a bid to get away from police before abandoning the car with his girlfriend still inside. Police called an ambulance which rushed the mum-to-be to hospital, where she gave birth to her child following an emergency Caesarian section. Police had initially tried to pull Stogden over onto the hard shoulder of the M621 motorway near Morley, Leeds, West Yorks., but he sped off away from officers, leading them on a high-speed chase where he clocked up 122mph as he sped towards the city centre. After leaving the motorway, Stogden ran red lights and dr...

Muslims in favor of the ban to entering US as Donald Trump says: Sadiq Khan, with the exception of

Presidential hopeful Donald Trump has said the newly elected mayor of London would be an "exception" to his proposed ban on Muslims travelling to the US. Because of his faith, Sadiq Khan had expressed concern that he would not be able to visit the US if Mr Trump were elected. Mr Trump proposed a ban on Muslims entering the US after attacks in Paris killed 130 people last year. "There will always be exceptions," the Republican businessman said. The temporary ban has been widely criticised in the US and abroad but Mr Trump has stood by the proposal, saying it is needed to ensure US security. Mr Trump said he was "happy" that Mr Khan would be leading London. "If he does a good job and frankly if he does a great job, that would be a terrific thing," he added. Mr Khan - the son...

Iain Duncan Smith: Cameron let Germans veto emergency brake

Iain Duncan Smith has intensified the Conservative war over Europe by claiming that David Cameron offered Germany a “de facto veto” on his EU renegotiations, forcing him to drop a plan for an emergency immigration brake hours before he was going to unveil it. Duncan Smith said Berlin exercised the “ultimate power” over what changes the prime minister sought from Brussels and was allowed to block the key demand, which would have given Britain more control of its borders. Germany’s resistance to the policy was reported at the time of the renegotiation, but the former work and pensions secretary detailed what he said took place, claiming the emergency brake was included in a draft of a speech by Cameron hours before it was due to be delivered. “I saw the draft,” he told the S...
