Chinese Electricity

Mahbub Hussain: With the world going after greener electric cars, China has joined in the rat race too. A lot of automotive startups have realized that electric cars are the future of everything and they are going berserk in making their electric vehicles, which are mere knock offs of Teslas. To make things worse for Tesla, the Chinese government offers generous subsidies to people who buy electric cars, but only if they are built in China; which Teslas obviously are not. So what are these clones? Huang Xiuyuan, a 28-year-old Chinese entrepreneur formed a company called Youxia, gathered a team of 50 engineers and designers and put the Ranger X in just 16 months. That is a mad feat, but seems quite possible given the fact the Youxia Ranger looks like an identical twin of the Tesla Model S f...

Queen’s Speech: Monarch Sets Out Key Policies

The Queen has set out the Government's agenda for the coming year amid accusations that David Cameron has watered down key measures. The measures in the Queen's Speech, delivered by the monarch in the House of Lords, is an attempt by the Prime Minister to advance a Government agenda and brush aside the toxic atmosphere over the EU. However, Mr Cameron has been accused of "tossing aside" reforms and "watering down" key elements of the Conservative's legislative programme in his "helter-skelter pursuit of the Referendum". Former Cabinet Minister Iain Duncan Smith claims the dilution of the speech has led to "increasing concern" among many Conservatives. The former Work and Pensions Secretary reserved most of his anger for the omission of the Sovereignty Bill, which was promi...

Britain has become semi-pacifist under Cameron, says retired general as he warns of war with Russia

General Sir Richard Shirreff, former Deputy Supreme Allied Commander of Nato, said the UK had “shrunk in to itself” and carries an “increasingly impotent stick”. He said the country now risked losing its post-Falklands global reputation for military might. The devastating attack came as Sir Richard warned Britain and the West could be at war with Russia within a year if it fails to stand up to President Vladimir Putin’s aggression. In a new book, he said the risk of conflict between the two sides is at its greatest since the Cold War and predicts they would be pushed over the edge if Russia invaded the Baltic States, who are Nato members. In the preface, Sir Richard also criticises the demise of Britain’s standing on the world stage and its creeping unwillingness to engage...

Israel is now joining hands with the BNP-Jamaat’s conspiracy against Islam: As PM Sheikh Hasina’s Homecoming Day celebrating in London

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has alleged that the BNP-Jamaat nexus has joined hands with Israel to oust her government, as they are working against the country and Islam. "The truth can never be suppressed...the BNP-Jamaat clique has joined hands with those who are frequently killing children and women in Palestine," she told a discussion at St James Court-Taj Hotel here on Tuesday. The UK chapter of Bangladesh Awami League arranged the discussion on the occasion of Homecoming Day of Sheikh Hasina. Urging people to keep watch on the conspirators, the Prime Minister said, "These plotters and killers are conspiring against the country and Islam...they don't want Bangladesh and they don't understand anything other than their personal interests." Sheikh Hasina, also the Awami ...
