    The UAE Ramadan Moon Sighting Committee has announced that the Holy Month of Ramadan in UAE for the Hijri year 1437 will begin tomorrow, Monday 6 June 2016. Ramadan moon has been sighted in Saudi Arabia also, therefore Monday, June 6, will be the first day of the holy month. Media reports said that the crescent has been sighted in Kuwait, Jordan, Yemen and other Arab countries also. The announcement was made on Sunday after the sighting of the crescent moon. Other Muslim countries in the Middle East and North Africa are also expected to begin observing Ramadan on Monday or on Tuesday.     The rain-swollen River Seine in Paris receded after reaching its highest level in three decades as attention turned today to other areas of France where alert warnings have been issued. From a peak of 6.10 metres (20 feet) in the early hours of yesterday, the river began to subside, falling to 5.77 metres at 8:00am (0600 GMT), the environment ministry's Vigicrues flood watch website said. CTG Police Super’s wife gunned down

    A Police Super's wife was shot dead by miscreants at GEC Intersection in the port city on Sunday morning. The deceased was identified as Mahmuda Khanom Mitu, the wife of Deputy Police Commissioner of Dhaka Babul Akhter. Three motorbike riders hacked and then shot Mitu dead at the GEC intersection of Chittagong this morning. Mahmuda Khanom Mitu was taking her son Mahir to the Chittagong Public School at around 5:30 in the morning. While waiting for the school bus at the GEC intersection, 3 riders on a motorbike approached and surrounded her. After a brief altercation, the attackers pushed Mitu down and hacked her with sharp weapons. They then shot Mitu dead and made their escape.
