Local people have two weeks left to share their views on proposed changes to several council services.

our consultations were launched last month, following the ‘Your Borough, Your Future’ survey which ran last Autumn.
After getting initial feedback then, the council agreed a three year budget in February, which set out how it planned to make £58m of savings.
And now it is seeking local people’s views on more detailed proposals, with two weeks left until the consultations close.
Mayor John Biggs said: “Government cuts and pressures on services mean we have had to save £58m, from our budget by 2020 – the equivalent of £1 in every £6 we spend.
“We are making significant internal changes to how the council works to achieve these savings and listened to people’s views about the services they most use and value.
“We think we can change some of our services to make them more efficient but we want to test this with the people who use them before we make our final decision. I urge residents to share their views.”
The changes proposed relate to the following services:
· The customer services provided through both One Stop Shops and Idea Stores
· 0-19 Public Health Children’s Programme
· Adult weight management
· Changes to the way the careers service is run.

The consultation on the proposed changes will run until 22 September 2017 and the feedback will be considered by the council’s Cabinet this Autumn as they make their final decision on savings for this financial year.
