One Of The Most Compelling MH370 Theories Has Just Been Debunked

Among the myriad theories of what happened to missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 is one which places the plane at the bottom of the ocean just off a tiny Maldives island in the Indian Ocean. It is, or at least was a persuasive theory, given the convincing testimony of a handful of eye-witnesses on Kuda Huvadhoo, who claimed to have seen a “low-flying jumbo jet” distinctive by its red and blue livery – the colours of Malaysia Airlines – on the morning of 8 March 2014. The claims came to light in the immediate aftermath of the disappearance of the plane and all 239 souls on board and were revisited by the Western Australian in April amid suggestions these potential observers had not been taken seriously. But the head of the country’s civil aviation authority Ibrahi...

US tried to bring down North Korean missile programme with computer virus

The operation began in tandem with the now-famous Stuxnet attack that sabotaged Iran's nuclear program in 2009 and 2010 by destroying a thousand or more centrifuges that were enriching uranium. Reuters and others have reported that the Iran attack was a joint effort by U.S. and Israeli forces. According to one U.S. intelligence source, Stuxnet's developers produced a related virus that would be activated when it encountered Korean-language settings on an infected machine. But U.S. agents could not access the core machines that ran Pyongyang's nuclear weapons program, said another source, a former high-ranking intelligence official who was briefed on the program. The official said the National Security Agency-led campaign was stymied by North Korea's utter secrecy, as w...

Army link with trafficking not found yet: Thai deputy PM

MH370 Search Vessel Makes Fascinating Discovery Of Shipwreck

A vessel involved in the search for missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 has discovered a shipwreck on the seafloor in the waters off western Australia, the Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) announced Wednesday. The wreckage, described as a "fascinating find," includes lumps of coal and an anchor along with several man-made objects. The discovery was made by the Fugro Equator’s deep-tow system in the southern part of the search area, which is located about 1,100 miles off the western coast of Australia and 12 nautical miles to the east of the seventh arc, which is the area where the last known communication between Flight MH370 and a communication satellite is believed to have taken place. The sonar data was carefully analyzed and categorized as “of potentia...

North Korea Tests World-Level Strategic Weapon

North Korea has claimed it has successfully test-fired a submarine-based ballistic missile "developed on the personal initiative" of leader Kim Jong-Un. Kim, who personally oversaw the test, hailed the missile as a "world-level strategic weapon capable of striking and wiping out in any waters the hostile forces infringing upon (North Korea's) sovereignty and dignity", said the country's KCNA news agency. There was no immediate independent confirmation of the test, which would mark a major breakthrough for the country's missile programme and violate UN resolutions prohibiting Pyongyang from conducting ballistic missile tests. Development of a submarine-launched missile capability would take the North Korean nuclear threat to a new level, allowing deployment far beyond the ...

Nepal Earthquake: Death toll rises to 3,617

Nepal's police say at least 3,617 people have been confirmed killed in Saturday's earthquake, including 1,302 in the Kathmandu Valley alone. In addition, 6,515 people were injured nationwide, the police department said in a Tweet. So far 18 people have also been confirmed dead in an avalanche that swept through the Mount Everest base camp in the wake of the earthquake. Another 61 people were killed in neighboring India. Foreign tourists in Nepal are getting anxious as food, water and power remain scarce. Hotel rooms are in short supply too so Pierre-Anne Dube, a 31-year-old from Quebec, has been sleeping on the sidewalk outside a hotel. Friends had been staying there for the first two days so she could use the bathroom and shower there. But they have checked out. Like...
