US musician dies after live streaming suicide on Facebook

A US man died at a hospital after live streaming his suicide on social networking site Facebook, the media reported on Saturday. According to witnesses, Jared McLemore, 33, a well-known musician in Memphis, ran into Murphy’s bar early Saturday morning seconds after setting himself on fire in a parking lot across the street. The livestream shows McLemore dousing himself with kerosene. The frantic screams of witnesses can be heard in the background. ‘This overwhelming smell of kerosene filled the room,’ Jim Duckworth, a witness was quoted as saying to wreg.com. ‘It looked like a movie, like someone wearing a flame-retardant suit...There were some people who thought that it was a joke,’ Kimberly Koehler, another witness. Koehler said McLemore’s former girlfriend, against whom...

EU Passports for Sale in Cyprus

In Limassol, on the southern coast of Cyprus, shop signs in Cyrillic outnumber those in Greek, the local language. Yachts emblazoned with Russian monikers fill berths in a newly built marina. And just past the office of radio station Russkaya Volna, restaurants lining the boardwalk serve pelmeni with, of course, vodka. This Moscow-on-the-Mediterranean has blossomed as Russians and their money flock to the tiny European Union outpost to become, in a sense, not Russian. Long known as a hub for offshore Russian finance and more recently as a focus of investigations into Russian links to President Donald Trump’s entourage Cyprus has enabled a more sophisticated way to camouflage those funds: If you can’t launder a Russian’s cash, the scheme goes, launder the Russian himself. T...

May announced to build new council houses to help families

Theresa May unveils plan to build new council house. She has announced an overhaul in council homes by promising measures to encourage the building of new social housing to help thousands of families. The Prime Minister has said the Tories will "support the most ambitious councils" and housing associations to overturn the decline in social housing if she is re-elected next month. In the last twenty years, the decline in local authority housebuilding has left England with a dwindling social housing stock as demand for housing has risen. There are currently 300,000 fewer homes for social rent than 20 years ago and around 1.2 million families on local authority waiting lists for a social tenancy. Mrs May said: Whether you rent or buy, everyone needs the security of a place to...

Macron to take office as French president

Emmanuel Macron will be inaugurated as France’s youngest ever president on Sunday, facing daunting challenges to rejuvenate the economy and breathe new life into the beleaguered EU. Macron, a 39-year-old centrist, will take over from President Francois Hollande, the Socialist whose five years in power were plagued by stubborn unemployment and bloody terror attacks, in a ceremony at 0800 GMT. After ascending the red carpet at the Elysee Palace in central Paris, Macron and Hollande will have a private meeting in the president’s office where Macron will be given the codes to launch France’s nuclear weapons. Hollande is clearly delighted at the election of the former investment banker, who scored a clear victory over far-right candidate Marine Le Pen on May 7. The current pres...

Bin Laden’s son Hamza wants to avenge his father

Osama bin Laden with his son, Hamza. Today, Hamza's age is estimated to be 28. Donald Trump just posted one of his strangest tweets

It's his life line of communication, a source of Fox News related information, and a direct connection with his devoted fans. He's been on his account, which boasts an impressive 29.3 million followers, since 2009, but it seems that he's still getting the hang of it. This week the President delivered, perhaps, his most clear and easy to understand tweet of all time. It was a linguistic tour de force. And completely free of all spelling mistakes. Naturally, it was deleted rather speedily afterwards. Trump just tweeted this.... ? pic.twitter.com/lEDsIMJtjQ — David Mack (@davidmackau) May 13, 2017 However, the damage was done. Twitter had it now, and they weren't going to let go of this rather enjoyable moment .

UAE princesses facing trial in Belgium over accused of trafficking servants

Eight princesses are facing trial after they were accused of trafficking servants into Belgium and treating them in an inhumane way. Princess Sheikha al-Nahyan and her seven daughters, from the United Arab Emirates (UEA), travelled to Belgium regularly and brought with them at least 20 servants, all women, to wait on them hand and foot 24 hours a day. One servant went to the police after escaping from the luxury suite in the Conrad Hotel in Brussels where the princesses were staying in 2008. She claimed her and her peers were working long hours, sometimes without enough food, did not have beds to sleep on and were not in possession of visas, Deutsche Welle reports. Belgian police launched an investigation and found the women were living in inhumane conditions. The eight pr...

Hackers exploit stolen US spy agency tool to launch global cyberattack

A global cyberattack leveraging hacking tools widely believed by researchers to have been developed by the US National Security Agency hit international shipper FedEx, disrupted Britain’s health system and infected computers in nearly 100 countries on Friday. Cyber extortionists tricked victims into opening malicious malware attachments to spam emails that appeared to contain invoices, job offers, security warnings and other legitimate files. The ransomware encrypted data on the computers, demanding payments of $300 to $600 to restore access. Security researchers said they observed some victims paying via the digital currency bitcoin, though they did not know what percent had given in to the extortionists. Researchers with security software maker Avast said they had observ...
