    The government is breaching fundamental obligations to protect its citizens’ right to life by failing to address the systemic problems that led to the Grenfell Tower tragedy, the UK’s human rights watchdog has warned. The Equality and Human Rights Commission has written to the Department for Housing, Communities and Local Government (DHCLG) outlining its concerns about the continued use of combustible cladding in existing buildings and advising the department of its responsibilities under human rights laws to protect lives.     Boris Johnson’s official Facebook page is host to hundreds of Islamophobic messages, a newspaper investigation has found. The Sunday Times said an examination of his web-page uncovered calls to ban Islam, deport Muslims and vile attacks on London Mayor Sadiq Khan. It comes after the ex-foreign secretary mocked women wearing the niqab and burqa as looking like letterboxes and bank robbers, with one Facebook follower praising him for having the bottle to start getting rid of these bloody Muslims.     Armed police were deployed after ball bearings were fired at two mosques in Birmingham from what is thought to be a heavy duty catapult. The attacks come days after 29-year-old Salih Khater, who is from the city, was arrested after a car collided with cyclists and pedestrians and crashed into a security barrier in Westminster. Officers were called to the Masjid Qamarul Islam mosque on Fosbrooke Road, Small Heath, at around 10pm on Wednesday, and to the Al-Hijrah mosque on Hob Moor Road 20 minutes later. West Midlands Police said it had recovered some ball bearings which smashed windows during evening prayers. They appeared to have been fired from a substantial catapult, officers added.     The Labour party has made a formal complain to the press regulator over recent coverage of Jeremy Corbyn's attendance at a wreath-laying memorial in Tunisia. The pictures of the 2014 ceremony prompted an international row after the Daily Mail claimed that they showed Corbyn laying a wreath close to the grave of people linked to a terror attack. But the Labour leader has insisted he attended the service in honour of the innocent people killed in an Israeli air strike in 1985.     Rhian Collins An NHS nurse hanged herself after being bullied by colleagues, an inquest heard. Rhian Collins, 30, was allegedly sworn at and picked on by fellow staff at a mental health hospital where she worked. She told her family her colleagues made her life 'very difficult' and would give her the worst night shifts. At an inquest into her death, investigating officer Sergeant Nia Lambley said: 'She was having issues at work. She was being sworn at, bullied and believed she was continually given the worst shifts on the ward. This lead to her becoming obsessed with her appearance and she would go to the gym four times a day.
