Shadow Labour cabinet could block Article 50 over single market access concerns

Labour will block the UK’s exit from the European Union if the Government is unable to guarantee access to the single market, Jeremy Corbyn has said. The opposition will join forces with Tory Remain supporters and other parties to prevent Article 50 from being triggered if this trade access is not assured, the Labour leader told theSunday Mirror. Mr Corbyn suggested Prime Minister Theresa May, who has a slim Commons majority, would be forced into an early general election if she fails to meet Labour’s “Brexit bottom line”. The Government is appealing a High court ruling ordering that Ms May must seek MPs’ approval to trigger Article 50. Mr Corbyn said: "The court has thrown a big spanner in the works by saying Parliament must be consulted. "We accept the result of the refe...

Nigel Farage still support to Brexit and warns of widespread anger

Farage Nigel Farage has said that if Britain’s exit from the European Union is derailed there will be political anger the like of which we have never seen in this country in my lifetime. Mr Farage also questioned the independence of the judiciary, in response to this week’s High Court ruling that said parliament must vote on when to deploy Article 50, and the claims by Jeremy Corbyn that Labour could demand continued membership of the single market. If that’s where we end up we’ve got half a Brexit,” he told the Andrew Marr Show. Asked about whether the judges who made the decision had not acted independently, as he has previously he said. Look at Lord Justice Thomas, the founding member of a body seeking to integrate law at an EU level. Surely will that background he shou...

Russian threat to UK military over intelligence issues warning

Armata tank in Red Square for the May Day parade this year British military intelligence has issued a warning over a ground-breaking tank being developed by Russia, according to a leaked document seen by The Sunday Telegraph. The Ministry of Defence internal briefing paper raises doubts over the UK’s ability to combat the threat posed by the Kremlin’s new Armata tank. It also questions why the Government has no plans for a rival tank for at least 20 years. The internal document, written by a senior Army intelligence officer, states: “Without hyperbole, Armata represents the most revolutionary step change in tank design in the last half century.” It adds: “Unsurprisingly, the tank has caused a sensation,” and it goes on to question the failure of current defence strategy to...

Taliban Terry killed in Mosul suicide mission

Authorities in Ireland are investigating reports that a former Catholic altar boy has died in an Islamic State suicide mission. The group's Amaq news agency has reported that 49-year-old Terence Kelly died after driving an armoured truck packed with explosives into Shia militia southwest of the Iraqi city of Mosul on Friday. The city is under siege from Iraq forces, Shia militias, Kurdish Peshmerga fighters and other groups backed by US-led coalition airstrikes who launched a campaign to retake the city from Islamic State last month. A statement released by the group said: "Brother martyr Abu Osama Irelandi, may Allah accept his soul, attacked a group of animals from the Shia militia in the village of Ghzayel al Kabir." One picture released by the group shows Mr Kelly dres...

Donald Trump rushed off stage in Reno by security

Donald Trump was rushed off stage Saturday night during a campaign rally here as security officials swarmed, but the candidate emerged back on stage after a few minutes and finished his speech. Some kind of a disturbance had occurred in the front of the room where Trump was speaking. He put his hand above his eyes to peer out into the crowd. As he did so, a security official rushed to Trump’s side and escorted him off stage. People near the front of the room suddenly scattered as U.S. Secret Service and uniformed officers jumped the barricades to apprehend an unidentified man. Trump later concluded his rally without further incident. It was not immediately clear what the cause of the disturbance was. CNN, citing a law enforcement official, reported that no weapon had been ...

US candidate’s final appeals: focus is on turnout

Democrat Hillary Clinton will spend the final days of the election trying to protect her lead in key battlegrounds, reflecting a tightening, unusually volatile race against Republican Donald Trump. Trump, whose electoral college prospects are narrower, is banking on a late-hour attempt to win at least one blue-leaning state - and to dramatically drive up turnout in rural areas in a collection of battlegrounds where he must prevail on Tuesday. With four days left on the campaign trail, both candidates and surrogates blitzed across the country Friday, making stops in states where polls have narrowed in recent days. The frenzied final days also include celebrity appearances - Jay Z headlined a get-out-the-vote show with Clinton in Cleveland, and Stevie Wonder played a "Love T...

How Prince Harry won over Meghan Markle

Prince Harry reportedly won over his rumoured new girlfriend Meghan Markle after he whisked her off to a luxury Hollywood mansion. The royal is said to have ‘sealed the deal’ during the weekend at his friend’s pad in Los Angeles back in mid-July. A friend said: "Harry sealed the deal in style. It had suddenly got serious,” they added to The Sun . Following their weekend in Los Angeles they didn’t see each other again until the divorcee spent time at Balmoral for Harry’s 32nd birthday, but the royal is said to have known she was in it for th...

Obama shouts at supporters: defends man backing Trump

US President Barack Obama defended a supporter of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump as the crowd at a Democratic rally in Fayetteville, North Carolina began yelling at him when he stood up with a pro-Trump sign. Obama repeatedly told the crowd to "hold up" as Hillary Clinton's supporters started booing a man who stood up with the sign supporting the Republican presidential nominee. The man, dressed in a military uniform, stood in the aisle of the arena stands and just held up his sign, which was one of the usual sizes. He didn't say anything. No, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Hold up. Hold up. Hold up. Hold up. Hold up. Hey, hold up! Hold up! Hold up! Hold up! Hold up! Hold up! Hold up, hold up, hold up!, said President Obama as the audience did not listen to hi...
