    A 10-year-old boy was allegedly shot dead and three others killed in clash in separate incidents of polls violence in Keraniganj, Jamalpur and Jessore today. Shubho Kazi, a fourth grader of Madhurchar Government Primary School at Keraniganj’s Hazratpur union and son of Halim Kazi, was allegedly shot by a ruling party supporter.     Bangladesh’s growth for this fiscal will improve marginally and stand at 6.7 percent driven by apparel export and domestic consumption, Asian Development Bank forecast today. The improvement will be 0.1 percent increase from the 6.6 percent growth recorded last fiscal. Higher growth will be driven by readymade garment export and a resilient domestic consumption, said ADB’s country director for Bangladesh Kazuhiko Higuchi. He was talking while launching ADB’s Annual Outlook Report 2016 at its Agargaon office in the capital, Dhaka. Earlier in September, ADB had forecast of 6.7 percent annual growth by 2016. The prediction comes in contradiction to the 7 percent growth target, which Finance Minister AMA Muhith hoped to achieve in his budget of 2015-16 fiscal year.

    Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday inaugurated of the first part of the ongoing Moghbazar-Mouchak Flyover Project from Satrasta to Ramna thana point. She opened the 2.11-km part of the 8.7-km flyover to traffic through unveiling a plaque. The flyover is being constructed in three parts -- from Holy Family Hospital to Tejgaon; Kakrail to Rampura; and Mouchak to Banglamotor -- in an effort to ease traffic congestions between the city's northern and southern parts. The project work, which was scheduled to be completed by December 2015, started in 2013 instead of the original schedule of 2011.
