A man charged over acid attack two people in east London

    A man has been charged following an acid attack in east London which left two people with life-changing injuries. Rahad Hussain, 23, of no fixed address, has been charged with two counts of wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm and one count of possession of an offensive weapon, namely acid. He is due to appear in custody at Thames Magistrates Court today. The two male victims, aged 23 and 24, were taken to hospital after what police described as a noxious substance was thrown at them on Tuesday near Roman Road, Bethnal Green. Earlier on Friday, police said of the two injured men: Whilst their condition is not being treated as life-threatening, it is being treated as life-changing.

    At least 48 people have been injured after a commuter train crashed into the buffers at a station in Barcelona. Emergency services in Spain said one person was seriously hurt while the rest, including the driver, were treated for minor injuries following the collision at the Estacio de Franca in the north of the city. No deaths have been reported. The train, travelling from the southern coastal town of Sant Vicenc de Calders, some 44 miles from Barcelona, crashed at the station, at 7.15am local time.     A village council in Pakistan ordered the rape of a 16-year-old girl as punishment for a crime committed by her brother. Police have arrested fourteen members of the council from Raja Ram, outside the city of Multan, for ordering the punishment after a 12-year-old child was allegedly raped by the girl’s brother. The council was initially approached by the 12-year-old’s brother, who they told to rape the 16-year-old in return for the alleged crime - an order which he carried out shortly after.
