Price of gas may hike by 25% of power by 3%

    State Minister for Power and Energy Nasrul Hamid says that prices of gas and of electricity are going to increase at consumer level. He adds that new prices are likely to be effective from the 1st of September. Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission, BERC is expected to make an announcement in this regard this afternoon. Gas price may increase by more than 25 percent, while electricity price may rise by 3 percent on an average. Gas price was last increased in 2009, while the pow-er price was last hiked in March last year.     The introduction of an all-night service on the London Underground has been suspended amid the threat of further strike action by workers. London Underground said that plans to launch the weekend Night Tube service on 12 September had been "deferred". It had previously been reported that officials were considering delaying the launch after it was met with staunch opposition by members of staff.     A bus which crashed into the front of a row of houses in in Lewisham, south-east London Residents received an unexpected wake up call today when a bus crashed into the front of a row of houses after careering off-road. The single decker bus came to a halt with its front wheels in the air after becoming wedged on top of a garden wall.     The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has decided to be tougher against the use of fake band-rolls and stamps against Bidi and cigarette companies as the revenue collector of the national exchequer has got some allegations in this regard.     Tower Hamlets Council has announced that an unexploded World War Two bomb has been uncovered at a building site in Bethnal Green – at the junction of Temple Street and Old Bethnal Green Road.
