New focused dad Harry speaks about loss of his mum

The Duke of Sussex has spoken of how his three-day-old son Archie has given him a new focus and goal, teaching him the "miracle" of new life after the challenges he faced following the loss of his mother. The Duke, who was in The Hague for the launch of the one year countdown to the Invictus Games, told of his pleasure in knowing his baby had made a lot of people happy, saying he was still very quiet at just a few days old. Having left Archie at home in Windsor with the Duchess to return for one day of work, he spoke of the joy his baby son has brought but advised a fellow father-to-be to learn his lessons and not plan too much after the baby’s arrival. During a bike ride around the Zuiderpark, the Duke had a candid conversation with former soldier Dennis van der S...

France warns Uk over Brexit delay

France has warned that it will not accept repeated extensions of the Brexit deadline beyond 31 October, amid deadlock in the UK over the deal negotiated by Theresa May. We must not get sucked into repeated extensions, that’s for sure, a French presidential adviser said on Friday. The advisor told the Reuters news agency: Our message is clear: a solution must have been found by October 31. The senior official did not categorically rule out a further extension, and expressed hope that talks between the Government and the opposition Labour party would provide a workable majority for Theresa May to get her deal through parliament. As an EU member state France has a veto over any extension to Article 50, though in practice the leaders on the European Council have tende...

£200m Grenfell type cladding fund

The government has set up a £200m fund to replace unsafe Grenfell Tower-style cladding on around 170 private high-rise residential buildings. The announcement comes in the wake of the 2017 fire at the west London tower block that killed more than 70 people, with cladding blamed for the rapid spread of the blaze. The money will be made available to building owners to remove aluminium composite material cladding, with the government declaring: If these reckless building owners won't act, the government will. Some building owners have yet to take action two years on from the fire, with some trying to make leaseholders foot the bill for replacing aluminium composite material cladding. Prime Minister Theresa May said too many are continuing to pass on the costs of remo...

Court hearing over Boris lies

A crowdfunding campaign attempting to have Boris Johnson prosecuted for his lies about Brexit will receive a hearing in court later this month. The Brexit Justice campaign alleges Mr Johnson abused public trust by intentionally misleading voters over his claim Britain pays £350m a week to the European Union. The former foreign secretary has previously been warned by the UK’s official statistics watchdog the figure, which was infamously emblazoned on the side of a Brexit campaign bus, is a misuse of public statistics. Mr Johnson’s case will receive its first private hearing at Westminster Magistrates Court on 14 May, where the campaign hopes it will proceed to trial on criminal charges for misconduct in public office an offence carrying a potential prison sentence. ...

PM given hours to say when she’ll go

Theresa May could be ousted within weeks if she refuses to spell out her resignation plans today. The prime minister has been told she has until 4 (BST) to announce her plans. Failure to do so could force Conservative MPs to change their leadership election rules to allow an early contest. Former leadership contender Andrea Leadsom says she is seriously considering standing to be prime minister. Theresa May has been told by Conservative MPs that she has until 4pm (BST) this afternoon to spell out her resignation plans, or risk being forced out of office within weeks. The prime minister was told by the chair of the 1922 Committee of Conservative MPs, Sir Graham Brady, that she must now spell out the road map for her departure, following the party's dir...

PM’s referendum plan if talks fail

British Prime Minister Theresa May has carried out "scenario planning" for a second Brexit referendum in case she is forced by parliament to hold one, according to UK media reports. Mrs May is hoping to find a way to get parliament to approve a Brexit plan without another public vote, but talks with the opposition Labour Party on a compromise exit strategy have yet to reach an agreement. The 'Daily Telegraph' reported Mrs May had discussions with officials and ministers about holding a referendum that would give voters the choice between leaving the European Union with a deal, leaving without a deal, or not leaving at all. The report cited unnamed government sources, who said the referendum plan would only become relevant if talks with Labour failed and a majority ...

But an increasing number of people find the palpitations, shortness of breath, tears and trembling too overwhelming and too frequent.
