TGGT is inspired by former MP Jo Cox who was killed on 16 June 2016. She was passionate about tackling loneliness and said 'young or old, loneliness doesn't discriminate.' Jo used her platform to raise the profile of the hidden crisis of loneliness and TGGT is a celebration in honour of her, bringing communities together to celebrate what unites us all. Thousands of carers, who provide unpaid support to a family member or friend, are being encouraged to stay healthy and connected themselves, as the nation marks Carers' Week from 11-17 June. A carer is someone who provides unpaid care and support to a family member or friend who has a disability, illness, mental health problem or who needs extra help, as they grow older. About 19,356 people in Tower Hamlets provide some form of unpaid care. And 3,326 of these are young carers under the age of 25. The British government on Thursday unveiled a white paper spelling out its plan for a so-called backstop to prevent a hard border in Ireland after Britain leaves the bloc.     Facebook said Thursday that it would notify 14 million users that posts they intended to share privately may have been published publicly, the company’s latest setback as it tries to rebuild user trust after the Cambridge Analytica scandal. The issue arose from a bug affecting Facebook’s audience selector tool, which allows users to decide whether to publish a post only to their friends or to a broader audience. The tool usually remains on the setting that was used most recently so that a user who only wants to share posts with friends does not have to keep selecting that option. When Voyager 1 flew past the planet in 1979, it collected data showing mysterious lightning-associated radio signals completely different to the signals produced by lightning on Earth. In a paper published in the journal Nature, the scientists from NASA's Juno mission have discovered that Jovian lightning is inside-out compared to lightning on Earth.
