    A menu, order of service, invitations and pictures from Britain's Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's wedding will be auctioned off next week. The memorabilia from the 2011 wedding of Prince William and Duchess Catherine, who was then known as Kate Middleton, is one of several royal lots going under the hammer next week, with two cheques written by the Queen Mother, a signed photo of Queen Victoria and handwritten letters penned by Princess Diana are among the items in the sale. The collection of royal memorabilia, which spans almost 200 years, was amassed by Devonshire royal 'ephemera expert', Jim Hanson and is said to be "extraordinary". ‘Lucky escape’ as London bus has roof torn off

    Passengers had a lucky escape when their bus had its roof ripped off after it hit a tree in a "freak accident". Five people were injured, with two taken to hospital, when the Number 91 clipped the overhanging tree on Kingsway in Central London, sending the roof crashing into the road behind it. Pictures on Twitter showed a double decker with upper-floor seats and handrails visible and its roof on the ground. One showed the bus in front of a tree with skinned bark next to a road sign that warned of "overhanging trees" and a height limit of 2.5 metres, or eight feet, three inches on the inside lane. Sex abuse victims accidentally named by MPs

    The House of Commons' home affairs select committee, chaired by Keith Vaz MP, made four victims' names public on its website as part of its inquiry into the Home Office's handling of the issue. Some of the victims named in the documents have been approached by their abusers and claimed they had even received death threats. In a letter to Theresa May, the Home Secretary, a group of abuse survivors said: "It has exposed us as individuals, making us feel vulnerable, and is having a huge impact on our work."     Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Saturday announced Tk1 lakh reward for the people who would help them to nab the anarchists, bombers and arsonists. RAB director general Benazir Ahmed came up with the announcement through a leaflet in the morning. According to the leaflet, the elite force announced Tk 10,000 to 25,000 bounty for the people who will give the right information about cocktail attackers and will help to nab them. Around Tk 20,000 will be given for information on petrol bomb attackers while 10,000 for providing photographs on vandalism, arson and crude bomb attack.

    India has relaxed visa application process waiving the online ‘appointment date’ for all categories, except tourist ones, with effect from February 1. “With effect from February 1, applications for all categories of Indian visas, except tourist visas, will be accepted on a walk-in-basis without an online appointment date’ at Indian Visa Application Centers (IVACs),” said a revised Indian visa procedures applicable for Dhaka and Khulna centers.     The government on Thursday banned motorcyclists from carrying passengers until further notice following arson by drive-by miscreants amid political turmoil in the country The order from Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges came on Thursday  afternoon, four days after two Eden College girls were burned in a drive-by arson attack near Jatiya Sangsad in the capital. According to the circular, the ban has been imposed under section 88 of the Motorcycle Act, 1983, and it would remain effective until further notice. The order will take effect immediately.” The order was issued to ensure security of the people in view of motorcycles being used to create violence and sabotage the country, the order read.

    Industries Minister and chairman of the cabinet committee on law and order Amir Hossain Amu said on Wednesday that anyone who helps the government in catching bombers and arsonist will get Tk 1 lakh as bounty. The minister made the announcement at a press briefing at the home ministry. At least 26 people died in political violence throughout the country since the inception of the opposition alliance’s blockade that entered 16th day Wednesday.
