Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant is being constructed with taking full security measures.

The Premier said this while addressing a gathering on the occasion of the First Concrete Pouring Ceremony of the Second Unit of the Nuclear Power Plant in Pabna yesterday.

Visiting Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Yury Ivanovich Borisov paid a call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant office in Pabna yesterday. During the meeting, the PM said, her government has the plan to construct more nuclear power plant as the sources of renewable energy. Russian Deputy Prime Minister assured of cooperating Bangladesh in various fields for mutual benefits.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has urged the countrymen to support her government for the continuation of the development process. The PM made the urge as she was addressing a mammoth public rally at the Pabna Police Lines Ground yesterday.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said Bangladesh is always in favour of resolving any issue with its neighbouring countries through dialogue.

The Prime Minister said this when visiting Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh called on her at Ganabhaban yesterday. The Premier said that Bangladesh strongly condemns terrorism and extremism.

Indian Home Minister emphasised regional dialogue for eliminating terrorism and militancy. Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh has said New Delhi and Dhaka joined hands to fight the forces of instability and terrorism as he jointly with his Bangladesh counterpart Asaduzzaman Khan opened Bangladesh-India Friendship Building at Bangladesh Police Academy in Sardah yesterday. Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan said the Indian support and initiative would further boost up the bilateral relations of the two countries.

A new integrated Indian Visa Application Centre was inaugurated at Jamuna Future Park in Dhaka yesterday. Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh along with his Bangladesh counterpart Asaduzzaman Khan formally opened the centre. Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka Harsh Vardhan Shringla said the newly integrated visa centre with all the facilities will issue on average 5000 visas every day.

The first Hajj flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines with 419 pilgrims left Dhaka for Saudi Arabia yesterday. Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister A K M Shahjahan Kamal and Religious Affairs Minister Matiur Rahman inaugurated the flight at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
