Police exchange gunfire with masked men in east London

    Three men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a shootout with police in Forest Gate, east London. Officers were called to Lascelles Close at 22.45pm following reports of suspects seen in possession of firearms. A number of shots were fired at the officers as they pursued them by car. Police fired back at the men on nearby Bective Road. No suspects or police were injured in the incident. Officers from the Metropolitan Police's Armed Response Unit were pictured at the scene and images and video posted to social media show a large police presence as bystanders gathered to watch.
