    Armed police have this afternoon (22nd July) raided premises in Whitechapel Road. The premises appeared to be in Court Street, a small cul de sac to the north of Whitechapel Road, near the Tube station. Passers by observed nine armed police officers. One also had a standard police battering ram and one had a crosbar. Three men were taken away by the police. Two were of Asian appearance and one of African appearance. The three were handcuffed.

    Seven people have been injured after a London double-decker bus crashed into a bridge. The roof was sliced off in the incident, which happened in Norwood, south London, at around 9.15pm on Saturday.     An aggressive squirrel was 'arrested' by the German police after a woman complained that the rodent was following her around, reports NDTV. According to the report, the police received an unusual emergency call from a young woman in Bottrop in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), complaining that while walking down the street in the West German city, she found herself being chased by the squirrel.
