Great British Bake Off winner Nadiya Hussain on Sunday revealed how she reduced to tears by a mean tweet.
The 31-year-old received a barrage of anti-Islamic abuse on social media and had to have a police presence at her home after winning the BBC programme last year.
She added that if she could pass a law she would give all Twitter trolls ASBOs.
Hussain, who baked the Queen’s 90th birthday cake, said the most poignant moment of her life was winning The Great Bake Off last year.
But she added that she would apologise to her “brothers and sisters for being a monster”, continuing: “They’ve had to deal with a really big change since I won Bake Off.”
“I used to ring them every day. They’ve found it hard but they’ve been the most understanding.”
