London ride two cyclists seriously injured in crashes

    Two cyclists taking part in the 100-mile RideLondon event have been airlifted to hospital after two separate crashes. One man is in a serious condition after hitting a tree and another is being treated for a serious head injury after falling off his bike, South East Coast Ambulance Service said. Many of the riders taking part in the annual event were held up for prolonged periods before being diverted after the first crash, at 9.05am on Sunday near Pyrford, Surrey. The man was taken by air ambulance to St George's Hospital in Tooting, London. The second crash took place at around 10.55am near Thames Ditton and he was also treated by air ambulance paramedics before being taken to a London hospital. 16 Dead in Texas After Hot Air Balloon Hits Power Line, Catches Fire

    Sixteen people are dead after a large hot air balloon struck a high-voltage power line, caught fire and crashed in a pasture near Lockhart, Texas, this morning, according to Texas authorities and the Federal Aviation Administration. The Caldwell County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call around 7:44 a.m. local time about a possible vehicle accident. The fire apparently broke out during flight in the basket portion of the hot air balloon. Witnesses described hearing popping sounds and then seeing a blaze of flames.
