Thanks to a much-anticipated press event near its headquarters in Cupertino, we now have our first official look at the Apple Watch, a device that CEO Tim Cook has described as “a revolutionary product that can enrich people’s lives”. Interested buyers will have to wait until spring 2015 to get their hands on one though, and in the meantime it may be worth considering picking up an Android Wear smartwatch instead.

Android Wear has the advantage in that there are actually devices currently on sale, but being first isn’t everything.
