Turkey Denies Cease Fire Deal With Kurdish Rebels in Syria

Turkey's minister of European Union affairs dismisses claims that a cease-fire has been reached with Kurdish rebels in northern Syria. In comments made to the state-run Anadolu news agency on Wednesday, EU Minister Omer Celik says, "Turkey is a sovereign state, it is a legitimate state. To suggest it is on a par with a terrorist organization and suggest there are talks between them, that a deal has been reached between them, this is unacceptable." Turkey's incursion into Syria helped rebels take the border town of Jarablus from the Islamic State group last week, but clashes have since broken out between Turkish and Kurdish forces in the area. The study by Public Health England and Cancer Research UK found that across England around 8.4 per cent of patients with lung cancer, and 2.4 per cent of breast cancer patients died within a month. But in some hospitals the figure was far higher. In Milton Keynes the death rate for lung cancer treatment was 50.9 per cent, although it was based on a very small number of patients. At Lancashir...

It has been claimed she intends to "bang a few heads together" to halt feuding between the so-called "Three Brexiteers": Liam Fox, David Davis and Boris Johnson. Chancellor Philip Hammond is also at odds with Dr Fox and Mr Davis because he wants the Government to try to retain its membership of Europe's single market after Brexit. Other big issues on the Chequers Cabinet agenda will include: :: Hinkley Point C - The PM has launched an inquiry into the project before gi...

US Secretary of State John Kerry stuck off in India visit

United States Secretary of State John Kerry’s visit to India and his planned schedule continued to be affected by heavy rains which lashed the national capital on Wednesday morning. Kerry is on a two-day visit to the country for the Second Indo-US Strategic and Commercial (S&C) dialogue. It all started the moment he landed at the airport on Monday evening and got stuck in a massive traffic jam en route to his hotel in Chanakyapuri. Kerry’s motorcade snailed through the traffic jam and it took him two hours to cover the 13-km stretch from Terminal 3 of IG...
