Doctors treating world’s heaviest woman resign over claims they lied about her weight loss

Pioneering lap band surgery on the world’s heaviest woman in Mumbai has turned nasty. The operation was a success but most of the doctors treating the woman have resigned after her family accused them of lying about her weight loss and ignoring a possible stroke. Eman Ahmed’s family say the 36-year-old, from Alexandria in Egypt, was born weighing 5kg (11lbs) and has lymphedema, a condition that causes body tissue to swell. She had a stroke aged 11 and has been unable to leave the house in 25 years. In February, weighing about 500kg, she was flown to Mumbai for treatment by one of India’s leading bariatric surgeons, Muffazal Lakdawala. Video: Is Instagram Helping People With Dieting? UK General Election 2017: Tony Blair says Theresa May will win the General Election

Former Labour prime minister Tony Blair has told Sky News Theresa May will be Prime Minister on 9 June. Mr Blair said he would be voting Labour at the General Election but refused to say that hand on heart Jeremy Corbyn was the best person to lead the country. He said that Mrs May would win the election. Suggesting that he thought the Labour leader was a liability to the party's chances, he said that because of the opinion polls and the leadership issue the best election tactic for the party was to argue that a strong opposition was important for democracy. Mr Blair has been criticised by some Labour members for suggesting people should vote for other parties in the General Election in order to populate the Commons with pro-EU politicians. However, speaking to All Out Poli...

Fox host under fire for remark about Ivanka Trump

Fox News host Jesse Watters is under fire for making what critics say was a sexually charged remark about Ivanka Trump, further fueling Fox's critics who have accused the network of fostering a sexist work environment. On Tuesday night's episode of The Five - the 9 p.m. show that followed The O'Reilly Factor, which was canceled after longtime star Bill O'Reilly was dismissed over mounting allegations of sexual harassment the network played a clip of Trump holding a microphone close to her mouth as she talked about women's rights at a panel in Germany. It's funny. The left says they really respect women and then when given an opportunity to respect a woman like that they boo and hiss ... so I don't really get what's going on here, but I really liked how she was speaking int...

North Korea's leader Kim Jong Un watches a military drill. Admiral Harry Harris, who heads the US Pacific Command, defended the deployment of the Terminal High Altitude Area Defence (THAAD) missile defence system in South Korea. He told Congress that he believed North Korea's threats against the US needed to be taken seriously.
