Never buy a home without checking these four essential things

When buying a home, make sure you know what to expect from the seller during the buying process. WHAT IS AN EPC? The seller must provide you with an Energy Performance Certificate or EPC free of charge. The EPC is produced by an accredited domestic energy assessor and lasts 10 years. DUTY OF DISCLOSURE The rule of buyer beware applies but the seller must not fraudulently conceal known defects or reply dishonestly to pre-contract enquiries. Why some people are bad at committing to relationships

When you are dating unsuccessfully it can feel like you're repeating the same mistakes over and over again. Humans are creatures of habit, and out of a subconscious desire to re-live and correct the issues from our past, we may seek out the same sort of partners and find ourselves in a destructive cycle. Some people may do this because they have an unhealthy attachment style, which is the way they form bonds and connect to others. One style is called "avoidant attachment," according to psychotherapist Allison Abrams. Theresa May Concerned Over Claims MPs Bullied Commons Staff

Theresa May is concerned over reports of bullying of Commons staff by MPs including Speaker John Bercow, a Downing Street spokesman said today. But the PM has confidence in Bercow who has denied any wrongdoing to continue in his role, despite a BBC Newsnight report which claimed one female clerk suffered post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) after working for him. The report from Newsnight is concerning, the spokesman said. The prime minister is clear there can be no place for bullying or harassment of any kind in Westminster. Everybody should be free to work in an environment that is safe and respectful. Any complaints that are made should be fully investigated. Kate Emms was appointed as the Speaker’s private secretary in mid 2010. She was signed off sick in ea...

EU official on responding to Trump tariffs: We can also do stupid

European Commission head Jean-Claude Juncker warned President Trump that Europe will respond to his tariffs with reciprocal measures, blasting the U.S. tariffs of 25 percent on steel and 10 percent on aluminum as stupid. In a statement to The Economist, Juncker said that we can also do stupid, seemingly warning that the European Union (EU) could pass trade measures designed to hurt the U.S. economy. Trump announced Thursday that his administration was officially implementing tariffs targeting steel and aluminum imports in an effort to save America's faltering steel industry, a major campaign promise that drew praise from union groups such as the AFL-CIO but harsh criticism from House and Senate Republicans. France regrets announcements of @realDonaldTrump on steel ...

Russia row: How will UK respond to spy attack

The Government has promised a "robust" response if Russia is behind the Salisbury nerve agent attack but what could be imposed on Vladimir Putin's regime? :: Expelling diplomats There have been calls to expel Russia's ambassador to the UK if the Kremlin ordered the poisoning of former spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia. Sir Christopher Wrey, the former UK ambassador to the US who has previously worked in Moscow, told Sky News: "You could, if this is proven, take advantage of this horrible case and not only expel the ambassador, but drain the swamp of all these guys MI5 are tagging around the streets of London and wherever." He added that the UK's response after the death of former Russian spy Alexander Litvinenko in 2006 - when four Russian diplomats were e...
