Meghan’s mother reveals her biggest highlight of the royal wedding

Meghan Markle’s mother, Doria Ragland, may have watched her daughter marry the love of her life and make history as she married into the royal family, but there was another moment from the weekend that the duchess’s mum will cherish forever. After arriving in the UK ahead of the wedding to meet her daughter’s future in-laws, Ragland met a number of members of the royal family including the Queen. When Meghan’s mum did finally meet the 92-year-old monarch, over tea at Windsor Castle with Meghan and Harry a day before the nuptials, it clearly went well. And the 62-year-old yoga instructor also appeared to form relationships with other members of the royal family, including Prince Charles and Camilla, who walked Ragland out of the church after the ceremony arm-in-arm....

Kim demanding $6,000 per night for hotel in Singapore and US may have to pay for it

A day after Donald Trump revealed his proposed meeting with Mr Kim was back on the calendar for June 12 after a positive meeting at the White House with a senior North Korean official, it emerged that mundane matters could be getting in the way of an historic geopolitical achievement. As White House Deputy Chief of Staff Joe Hagin and Mr Kim’s de facto chief of staff, Kim Chang Son, seek to hammer out logistical details in Singapore ahead of the meeting barely ten days away, it was reported the North Korean leader has asked to stay at the five-star Fullerton Hotel. Yet, according to the Washington Post, the cash-strapped country has demanded someone other than North Korea pay the hotel bill, which would include a $6,000 per night fee for the presidential suite. The...

DUP leader threatens to pull support for May Govt

Arlene Foster has threatened to pull out of a deal to prop up Theresa May’s Government if it adopts a Brexit deal that treats Northern Ireland differently from the rest of the UK. The Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) leader warned that customs parity with Britain was a red line for her party, whose 10 MPs support the Conservatives in Westminster under a supply and demand arrangement. Cabinet ministers are currently examining ideas to solve the Irish border issue after Britain quits the European Union. One idea reportedly proposed by Brexit Secretary David Davis – and dismissed by Downing Street – would see Northern Ireland covered by a joint regime of UK and EU customs regulations, allowing it to trade freely with both, plus a 10-mile wide “special economic zone” on...

Donald Trump does deals and Ivanka Trump does well

President Donald Trump speaks during a Memorial Day ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery, Monday, May 28… The president likes a deal, and this is a moment for Republicans, who are beginning to show some spine, to make one. How about they work with Trump on his trade war or is it a trade skirmish? He can have naming rights in exchange for his opening up the books on his and Ivanka’s continued business dealings, in particular those with China. Congress has negotiating power right now with Trump given that he’s in the hole over his impulsive, unilateral proposal to lift sanctions on Chinese telecom giant ZTE. This came in too-close-for-comfort proximity to Ivanka getting seven trademarks in a month from China worth millions, bringing to 13 her total over the last ...
