Signs who found perfect partner

The concept of finding a soulmate has been thrown around for years. But what is a soulmate, anyway? The idea behind it is simple: There’s someone out there who is perfectly suited for you and only you. While the idea of finding the one is romantic, it's just not realistic. In fact, many relationship therapists flat-out hate the idea. The concept of finding your soulmate has ruined some marriages, says psychologist Barton Goldsmith, PhD, author of The Happy Couple. The reality is, there are probably 10 or 20 people on the planet that would work for you, maybe more. But there’s no one exact right person for you for the rest of your life, he explains. Ivanka Trump being considered as new World Bank chief

Donald Trump’s daughter is reportedly one of a handful of people being considered as the new head of the World Bank. The US president’s eldest daughter Ivanka Trump has been mentioned as a possible successor to Jim Yong Kim, who stood down earlier this week three and a half years before his term was up. According to the Financial Times, names being thrown into the mix for the role include Ivanka Trump, Treasury official David Malpass, former UN ambassador Nikki Haley, and head of the US Agency for International Development Mark Green. Mr Kim, a former academic and health official, said he was leaving th...

Saudi runaway arrives in Canada after being granted asylum

Saudi teenager Rahaf Mohammed al-Qunun has arrived in Canada after being stranded in Bangkok Airport. The 18-year-old was granted asylum by Canada after she claimed she feared that she would be killed by her family. Ms Al-Qunun was stopped at Bangkok airport on Saturday by Thai immigration police who denied her entry and seized her passport. The 18-year-old barricaded herself in an airport hotel room, launching a social media campaign via Twitter and drawing global attention to her case. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Canada would accept Rahaf Mohammed al-Qunun as a refugee. Canada has been unequivocal, Mr Trudeau said. We will always stand up for human rights and women's rights around the world. The office of the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees...

Delay to Brexit on way, Cabinet ministers reveal

Brexit looks increasingly likely to be delayed beyond the scheduled exit of March 29, Cabinet ministers today revealed to the Standard. A backlog of at least six essential Bills that must be passed before Britain leaves the European Union has left ministers convinced the timetable will be extended. They include the much-delayed Immigration Bill that has not yet even been published, let alone debated. Even asking MPs to sit at weekends and cancel their half-term holiday in February may not provide enough time to avoid asking for a delay, several sources have disclosed. A senior minister said: “The legislative timetable is now very very tight indeed. Certainly, if there was defeat on Tuesday and it took some time before it got resolved, it’s hard to see how we can ...
