Tens of thousands have shared an online letter calling for Britain – which lost America in the Revolutionary War of 1765 – to step in and save the nation if Trump and the Republicans win the election on November 8.
Many historians have argued that the former British Colony was never formally rescinded at the end of the war in 1783 and that George Washington and Benjamin Franklin merely signed a document removing the United States as a liability and obligation of King George.
Now they want to act on that anomaly and, in a play on Donald Trump’s repeated incantation to ‘Make America Great Again’, a growing number of US citizens are making a call to ‘Make America Great Britain Again’.
