Woman killed in Xmas Eve crash

    A woman has been killed in a crash on the M1 motorway. Bedfordshire Police said a number of vehicles were involved in the accident, which took place at about 11.15pm on Christmas Eve on the northbound stretch of the motorway near junction 12. The woman, who has not been named, was pronounced dead at the scene. Another person suffered minor injuries in the incident. A stretch of the motorway was closed from Tuesday night until Wednesday morning after the crash. Bedfordshire Police attended the incident along with members of the ambulance service and fire brigade.
