Parts of Britain are set to bake as they emerge from this week’s rainy weather with another spell of hot and humid temperatures.
Highs are predicted to hit a scorching 32C with hot air expected to sweep across the country early next week.
Sunshine and blue skies could then hold out into next month, with the Met Office forecasting prolonged dry and warm spells.
Before then, temperatures will pick up over the weekend with 29C possible across southern Britain and 22C in the north.
Scotland will remain under a cooler airmass keeping things cooler with highs of around 16C.
The very far north could turn cooler overnight with clear skies allowing temperatures to nudge low single figures.
However the rest of Britain is about to welcome another scorcher.
The Met Office said highs of 32C are possible at the start of next week with most places turning very warm.
Situated in a desert just above sea level, the Iranian city sees average summer temperatures touching the 116°F (46.6°C) mark, with 128.7°F (53.7°C) the highest recorded on June 29, 2017.
Spokeswoman Nicola Maxey said temperatures will widely reach the low to mid 20Cs over the next couple of days with 29C possible on Sunday.
She said: The weather is about to turn warm again and by Sunday temperatures in the south could touch 29C with the start of next week possibly reaching the low 30s.
We could see 32C in London and the southeast by Monday with things staying very warm on Tuesday, parts of the north could reach 27C.
It looks like it will stay warm as we go through next week although there is the chance of showers later on.
High pressure will build as we go through the weekend bringing more settled, warmer and humid conditions.
