Meghan and Harry reportedly cut down guest list

As many of you will already know, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have invited 600 guests to their royal wedding on 19 May at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle.

And yes, while we’re still mourning the factthe couple decided to bump us off their original guest list, is it bad that we’re slightly smug at hearing the pair decided to cut down the number of attendees?

According to E!, the famous chapel can hold approximately 800 people. However, the soon-to-be married couple reportedly decided to cut 200 potential guests to the church ceremony in order to accomodate an altered seating plan.

An insider told the publication the couple have considered spreading out the chapel’s pews or arranging them diagonally so guests can get a better view of the altar. Basically, Hazza and Megs might be doing their own 60-Minute make-over in the chapel and we couldn’t love it more.

The new seating plan will also reportedly ‘look much better’ when it comes to aerial camera shots for people watching the televised wedding at home.

The 600 attendees lucky enough to have made the cut will also attend the lunchtime reception at St George’s Hall, hosted by Harry’s grandmother Queen Elizabeth II, while a reported 200 guests are invited to the private reception hosted by Prince Charles at Frogmore House.

The headcount is much smaller than the total number of guests invited to Prince William and Kate Middleton April 2011 church wedding, which had a whopping 1,900 guests attend the ceremony at Westminster Abbey and an evening reception with 300 guests at Buckingham Palace.

In March, Kensington Palace announced Harry and Meghan had invited 2,640 members of the public to watch the couple’s arrivals from the grounds of Windsor Castle.

In addition, more than 250 members of the Armed Forces will be in attendance to provide ceremonial support during the wedding and carriage procession.

Meanwhile, the rest of us will be watching from our sofas/in the local pub with a large glass of wine.

Cheers!
