12 Things That Happen to Your Body When You Eat Eggs

If you do want to play chicken with infections, viruses and diseases, add an egg or two to your diet daily. Just one large egg contains almost a quarter (22%) of your RDA of selenium, a nutrient that helps support your immune system and regulate thyroid hormones. Kids should eat eggs, especially. If children and adolescents don’t get enough selenium, they could develop Keshan disease and Kashin-Beck disease, two conditions that can affect the heart, bones and joints. 1. Trump’s decision to pardon Joe Arpaio could be a crucial piece of evidence in the Russia investigation

The Washington Post's report on Saturday that President Donald Trump asked Attorney General Jeff Sessions about dropping the case against former Arizona sheriff Joe Arpaio offers a critical window into Trump's thinking. Trump's alleged conversation with Sessions and subsequent decision to pardon Arpaio could shed new light on Trump's motives when he spoke to former FBI director James Comey about ending the investigation into former national security adviser Michael Flynn one day after Flynn resigned. Arpaio, an early and enthusiastic Trump surrogate, was convicted of criminal contempt in July for violating a court order to stop racially profiling Latinos. When Trump allegedly asked Sessions this past spring whether it would be possible to drop the federal criminal investig...

Labour in dramatic policy shift over Brexit

In a dramatic policy shift, Labour is pledging to continue UK membership of the EU single market and the customs union during a transitional period following Brexit in March 2019. Effectively, a Labour government would try to keep Britain inside an economic union while leaving the political union with the European Union. At the general election, Labour promised to seek to retain the benefits of the single market and customs union as part of a jobs-first Brexit. But party leader Jeremy Corbyn has so far stopped short of committing to continued membership beyond the date of Brexit. However, writing in T...

British PM decided to quit

Theresa May has pencilled in Friday, August 30, 2019 as the day she will quit as Prime Minister. That gives her exactly two years to see Britain through Brexit before handing over to her successor. Mrs May is on a charm offensive with her MPs entertaining small groups of 15 plus partners to a day out at her Chequers country retreat. Each MP is emailed personal invitations until they accept. She greets each guest in person at the door, offering them prosecco, canapés and homemade chocolates with husband Philip to persuade them to give her the time to complete the withdrawal from the EU. One Tory MP who was a guest said: “It’s clear she won’t lead us into another election and will be gone by September 2019. She invited MPs to Chequers to ensure there isn’t a -leadership cont...
