Trump is Wrong about Madman Kim Jong Un

President Donald Trump has depicted the North Korean leader Kim Jong Un as a madman but U.S. intelligence officials do not agree. According to Yong Suk Lee, the deputy assistant director of the CIA's Korea Mission Center, the young North Korean ruler is actually a lot less erratic than he is often portrayed. "Beyond the bluster, Kim Jong Un is a rational actor, he said at a conference on the CIA at George Washington University on Wednesday, quoted by AFP. Trump and Kim have reguarly traded insults but despite the latter's threat to the American president last month, the North Korean ruler does not seek a military confrontation because he is more interested in ensuring his regime’s survival and stability. We have a tendency in this country and elsewhere to underestimate his...

Woman dragged off Southwest Airlines plane says it was motivated by anti-Muslim bias

AnilaDaulatzai, a professor at the Maryland Institute College of Art, was filmed as police dragged off the flight to Los Angeles at Baltimore Washington airport last week Officials from the airline said she was removed after reporting that she had a life-threatening allergy to a pair of dogs that were travelling in the plane's cabin. Shapps has list of Tory MPs calling on May to go

Former Conservative co-chairman Grant Shapps has prepared a list of Tory MPs who are calling on Theresa May to resign. Speculation has swirled over the Prime Minister's position following her calamity-ridden conference speech on Wednesday and this year's General Election result where the party lost its overall majority. Mr Shapps told Sky News: "As it happened this list has been growing, and this week didn't help. There are five former Cabinet ministers, one former minister, and quite a lot of the backbenchers. We think May is a decent person doing her best but she led us into an election with that result. We're not pointing any fingers. He added that the list was pretty much my initiative, saying: I hold the list myself and I know a number of people on the list have texte...

It began in Australia and was officially launched in Vienna in 2007. We live in a world where the risk of nuclear weapons being used is greater than it has been for a long time, said Berit Reiss-Andersen, the leader of the Norwegian Nobel Committee. In July, 122 nations adopted a U.N. Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons, although the agreement does not include nuclear-armed states such as the United States, Rus...
