Russia test nuclear missile powerful which enough to destroy the UK, Texas or France

Russia is set to test its biggest ever nuclear missile which is powerful enough to destroy the UK, Texas or France with a single strike. The so-called Satan 2 intercontinental ballistic missile could deliver about a dozen nuclear warheads of 40 megatons - 2,000 times as powerful as the atom bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945. President Vladimir Putin's Defence Ministry plans to test two RS-28 Sarmat super nukes at the remote Plesetsk Cosmodrome before the end of the year, it was reported. The 100-ton weapons which could enter service as early as 2019 will make the bombs dropped on Japan look like popguns, experts have said. Russia claims the missiles can beat any defences as it seeks to replace its arsenal of SS-18 Satan weapons. The Satan 2 missile was displa...

Singapore passport becomes most powerful in the world

For the first time, Singapore is the single most powerful passport in the world, thanks to a little help from Paraguay. By removing visa requirements for Singaporeans, Paraguay helped Singapore edge out Germany for the top spot in a passport index developed by global financial advisory firm Arton Capital. Historically, the top ten most powerful passports in the world were mostly European, with Germany having the lead for the past two years, reports the Channel News Asia. Bangladesh obtained a visa-free score of 35 and managed 90th position in the latest rankings. Since early 2017, Singapore has tied for number one position with Germany. But Singapore obtained a visa-free score of 159 in the latest rankings released on Wednesday (Oct 25), while Germany achieved a visa-free ...

Fresh ransomware spreads across Europe after WannaCry and Petya outbreaks

A strain of ransomware known as Bad Rabbit is believed to be behind the trouble, and has spread to Russia, Ukraine, Turkey and Germany. Cyber security firm Kaspersky Lab, which is monitoring the malware, has compared it to the WannaCry and Petya attacks that caused so much chaos earlier this year. According to the company, the majority of victims are located in Russia, and the ransomware appears to have infected devices through the hacked websites of Russian media organisations. Interfax and Fontanka in Russia have both been hit by a cyber attack, as have Odessa Airport and the Kiev Metro in Ukraine. Based on our investigation, this is a targeted attack against corporate networks, using methods similar to those used in the ExPetr attack, Kaspersky Lab has said. However, we...

China unveils new leadership line-up, no obvious Xi successor

Beijing: China’s Communist Party revealed its new leadership helmed by President Xi Jinping on Wednesday, breaking with recent precedent by failing to include a clear successor to the president among the seven-man line-up. Apart from Xi, Premier Li Keqiang was the only one to retain his spot amid sweeping changes on the Politburo Standing Committee, the height of power in the world’s second-largest economy. Li Zhanshu, Wang Yang, Wang Huning, Zhao Leji and Han Zheng were promoted, replacing five retiring members including anti-corruption chief Wang Qishan, a key Xi ally. All seven are in their 60s, and for the first time no Standing Committee member will have been born before the 1949 Communist revolution. Guangdong party secretary Hu Chunhua and Chongqing party boss Chen ...

Brexit is stupidest thing any country has done besides Trump

Michael Bloomberg, the billionaire media mogul and former mayor of New York, has said Brexit is the single stupidest thing any country has ever done apart from the election of Donald Trump as US president. Bloomberg argued that it is really hard to understand why a country that was doing so well wanted to ruin it with the Brexit vote, in a series of outspoken remarks made at a technology conference in Boston a fortnight ago. At that event, Bloomberg, 75, also warned that some workers at the financial media company that bears his name were asking to leave the UK and US because they think the two countries no longer like immigrants and are no longer welcoming. The CEO was in London on Tuesday to open a new European headquarters for Bloomberg in the City, covering 1.3 hectare...
