What Sleeping Position Says About You

The position you rest in while going to sleep could provide an insight into where you live, your age and even your profession, new research suggests. The study asked 15,000 people across the globe, including 5,000 people in the UK, about their sleeping positions, then analysed the results for key trends. Sleeping on the left was found to be the most popular position overall and people who slept is this way were found to be more likely to be university educated than any other position. Using the findings, bed manufacturer Sealy UK has created a break down of what your sleeping position could reveal about you. While the results may feel a little like reading a horoscope, they’re certainly good fun. 1. ‘Leftie lounger’ – 36% of people sleep on their left side each night, maki...

Brexit bill could be £20bn more: Theresa May

Theresa May today signalled she is ready to pay billions of pounds more in a Brexit divorce bill to secure a December deal to begin trade talks. In a choreographed finish to the EU summit, the other 27 leaders took less than two minutes to reach a decision to start preparations for moving negotiations onto trade. Sources confirmed to the Standard that at a dinner yesterday Mrs May told them that her Florence speech last month, offering at least £18 billion, was not the final word. Cabinet ministers think that the final bill could be another £20 billion higher. An agreement before Christmas would delight the City, which today warned firms will have no choice but to consider moving jobs abroad if the stalemate were allowed to drift on to next year. But it will be fiercely re...

Three governments failed in a three-year to find MH-370 after missing

A Houston company is negotiating to conduct a private search for missing Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, after three governments failed in a three-year, $160 million effort. The Boeing 777-200ER is presumed to have crashed after it went missing March 8, 2014 with 239 people aboard, during a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing. Malaysia’s Department of Civil Aviation said Friday that it is weighing several private offers to search for the plane, including one from Ocean Infinity, a Houston firm that surveys the ocean floor. Ocean Infinity offered to search without payment unless the plane was found but the offer is still being assessed and no agreement has been reached yet, according to the statement from Azharudden Abdul Rahman, the department's director general. Flight offi...

UK’s biggest abortion clinic accused of paying staff bonuses for encouraging women for termination

A damning report has accused one of the UK’s biggest abortion providers of paying its staff bonuses for persuading women to go through with a termination. The allegations concerning the Maidstone branch of the Marie Stopes International clinic emerged in an inspection report by the Care Quality Commission, the official health service watchdog. The clinic said it is categorically untrue that staff bonuses are linked to the numbers who proceed with abortions but the report found a cattle market culture where staff felt encouraged to ensure women went through with abortions because it was linked to their performance bonus. There are 70 Marie Stopes clinics across the UK, where private terminations cost between £546 and £2040 including a consultation, depending on how advanced...

TVC shows that women do bleed red not blue during periods

Menstruation, a perfectly normal bodily function in women, is almost always treated as a taboo. Most girls, conditioned as they are, talk about it in euphemism among their female counterparts and often refuse to utter the word when in front of boys. This hesitation to address the issue is also reflected in the way it is represented. Different brands of sanitary napkins in their advertisements, replace blood with a blue liquid, reports the Indian Express. As absurd it might sound this indeed is the norm and reality. Deviating from it and refusing to dilute the reality, Bodyform, a brand of feminine hygiene products in the United Kingdom, in their advertisement has depicted things how they are. Women do bleed during menstruation and the colour of blood, as well know, is not ...
