Free Fireworks at victoria park on November 5

Award winning Victoria Park is the venue for the Tower Hamlets Council’s free fireworks display this year.

Victoria Park won the award for best large park in London at the London in bloom Awards last month andplays host to the spectacular sci- fi themed display from 7pm.

Organised by the council’s Arts, Parks and Events Team and produced by Walk the Plank, this year’s Guy Fawkes celebration will bring an exciting sci-fi vibe with a mix of both contemporary and classical tracks synchronised to a dizzying sequence of fireworks and special effects.

Blasting off at 7pm, residents can journey to the stars and enjoy a stunning and free display. The park will be open earlier in the evening with refreshments available to be bought on site from 5.30pm.

Executive Mayor of Tower Hamlets John Biggs said: In the three years since we bought back the Victoria Park fireworks display it’s quickly become a real gem in our annual events calendar.

Victoria Park was rightly recognised by London in Bloom as London’s best big park and it’s a fantastic backdrop to what I’m sure will be London’s best firework display. I hope residents will take full advantage of this great free event.

Cllr Chunu Mukit, cabinet member for culture added: The council are famous for their free striking fireworks displays and this year will certainly be one to remember.

We will be sharing pictures that you send us of the brilliant fireworks and sharing them on social media. You can share them on twitter facebook and in instagram using #fireworksTH.

Tower Hamlets has many diverse parks, gardens and open spaces for residents and visitors to enjoy. Play areas for children, leisure and recreational facilities, nature reserves, walking trails and live events are just a few of the things that can be enjoyed in the borough’s parks and open spaces. The borough has won many awards for the quality and management of its parks and open spaces, including ten Green Flag Awards which recognise exceptional high quality green public spaces.
