The next round of applications for Tower Hamlets,’ multi-award winning No Place for Hate Champions training has been announced by the council.
The free training is open to anyone who lives or works in the borough.
It aims to give participants the skills to identify and tackle hate crime, and to deliver community activities where they can make a difference, share their learning and celebrate diversity.
The new champions will add to 84 others who have already used the training to bring thousands of people together in community projects.

Cheryl Jethoo, a local resident said:
“I truly believe that we as a community can eradicate Hate Crime if we all take a stand against it.
“I will be offering workshops to educate people on hate crime and raising awareness through newsletters and information displays at my local GP Surgery.”

“I hope to make a positive contribution and to make a real change to the community. I want to bring a smile to the people’s faces that I support.”
Samantha Ming, a health care scientist support worker at Barts Health NHS Trust said:
“As a ambassador for No Place for Hate, I will be the voice for those who are silent and be the change I want to see. I will raise awareness and educate the community to report all Hate Crime.”
